Preparation for first term – Cells

We usually start the academic year on the cells topic.

A good start would be to familiarise yourself fully with what you have covered at GCSE Science in relation to cells. It doesn’t really matter if you were studying AQA, OCR or another exam board at GCSE. Most content is similar. So, for example, this section on GCSE Biology on cells from AQA is good. Read through this section thoroughly and complete the self-assessed test at the end.

The revision website, Physics and Maths Tutor, also has lots of great material for other A Level subjects, including A Level Biology. Here you can find free summary notes and flash cards to the first topics we cover at A Level. https://www.physicsandmathstutor.com/biology-revision/a-level-ocr-a/module-2/

The publisher CGP also have produced a good guide book to help you get ahead. This is about £5 (hard copy) https://www.cgpbooks.co.uk/secondary-books/as-and-a-level/science/biology/bbr71-head-start-to-a-level-biology

Alternatively, if you have an Amazon Kindle account, you can download it to a Kindle reader on a PC for free: https://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Head-Start–level-Biology-ebook/dp/B00VE2NIOI
